Dr. Malek was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he attended Millbrook High School. After his high school graduation in 1985, he continued his education at North Carolina State University where he received his undergraduate degree in 1990, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1999 from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. He is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Society, and the Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society. Dr. Malek is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He has participated in several mission trips including Costa Rica, El Salvador and the Middle East. He has also offered his dental services to the NC Missions of Mercy Clinic in Raleigh.
Dr. Malek enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Knight and their three children. His hobbies include fishing, soccer and traveling.
Dr. Santago is an avid Wolfpack fan. She graduated from NC State in 2009 with a dual degree in marine science and biology. Leaving NC State behind, she attended UNC School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 2013. Upon completion of dental school, she served our nation’s veterans in a one-year residency at the Fayetteville VA Hospital. She has enjoyed volunteering her time and talents at NC Mission of Mercy Clinics as well as on dental mission trips to Tanzania and Mexico. Dr. Hetrick is a native of Kansas. After receiving her Bachelors of Science degree from University of Kansas, Dental school brought her to Buffalo, New York where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2009. In a pursuit of excellence, Dr. Hetrick completed a two year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. During her post graduate residency, she received additional training from dental specialists in all fields of dentistry. A passion for lifelong learning motivates her to attend frequent dental meetings, study clubs and workshops.
A desire to be closer to family recently moved Dr. Hetrick, her husband and two sons to North Carolina. Together they explore the area's beautiful parks, lakes, playgrounds and festivals
Dr. Giordano was born and raised in Central New York. He attended undergraduate college at Siena College near the state’s capital region of Albany, earning a minor in Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology upon graduation in 2012. Following undergrad, Dr. Giordano worked in the dental field as a sterilization, and lab technician eventually working his way up to the level of dental assistant. While working he studied for his Dental Admission Test, and was eventually accepted to his first choice of the State of New York’s University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. While receiving his dental education, Dr. Giordano was an active member of the national dental fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta, as well as the local Buffalo outreach Community Association (B.O.C.A.). Dr. Giordano also enjoyed volunteering his time helping our nation’s veterans receive free care on Veteran’s Day each year in the dental clinic, as well as serving the rural underserved populations of La Romana, in the Dominican Republic, and Point Fortin, Trinidad during dental mission trips. Dr. Giordano also completed a dental externship serving the great Native American people of the Seneca Nation in Salamanca, New York with the governmental agency of the Indian Health Service (I.H.S.). Dr. Giordano continues to volunteer his time serving the underserved here in the United States on Remote Area Medical (RAM) missions. Dr. Giordano received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) and was awarded the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (A.A.I.D.) award for his sustained interest in implantology, and Oral Surgery. Following his graduation, Dr. Giordano completed a 1-year residency at a regional level-1 trauma hub in his hometown of Syracuse, NY at Upstate University Medical Hospital. While here he regularly rotated, and served our nation’s veterans at the Syracuse VA outpatient Dental Clinic. Dr. Giordano grew up tinkering with, and restoring classic American automobiles, and fixing anything he could get his hands on which has translated to his career in dentistry. He has interests in art, and history, and enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, fishing, hiking, and playing golf when possible. As a recent transplant to the Triangle, Dr. Giordano is thrilled to have the opportunity to pursue his lifelong passion of dentistry in North Carolina serving the population of Wake County.
